A silly writing idea

So. In the midst of talking about everything and nothing, a strange setting idea came up. Basically, take a Kingdom Hearts type setting - multiple worlds, influences from Final Fantasy games...
Except, because I'm more of a fan of that series, make the primary influence the Tales games. Disney stuff might or might not remain, but I can easily imagine things like the prime inter-world ship mechanic being Aifread instead of Cid. Or something along those lines.
This is, of course, heavily inspired by Andrew Joshua Talon's 'Key Through The Heart' fanfic - a Naruto/KH crossover done surprisingly well. On The Fanfiction Forums, he has a thread or two going, where he takes up prompts or character requests and writes a scene or fact from this new universe in response. Crossover elements have become a little insane, but it's all in good fun.
And it featured Canon Sasuke getting his clock cleaned at one point. Always good.
So! As part of this silly rambling I'm doing, I'll take requests. Name some character or situation that might crop up in a Tales equivalent to the Kingdom Hearts universe, and I'll write a thing or three for them.
And for no good reason, there will be cake.

Date: 2008-01-22 02:03 am (UTC)1. At first he scoffed at the idea of 'Heartless' - he had studied medical science for a time, and knew what truly laid in people's hearts. It tended to be blood.
2. This didn't stop him from making comments designed to spook Luke, though.
3. He was rather annoyed when he discovered that the supposed 'Heartless' were corrupting fonons, as he saw it. Mostly annoyed that he hadn't anticipated it sooner.
4. Nonetheless, he was able to marshall a defense in Grand Chokmah; he had to, the Albiore was nowhere nearby and escaping by land or sea was nothing short of troublesome.
5. When all was said and done, he decided to study what made the Heartless tick - what it was that allowed them to corrupt others so quickly, how they propogated, and so forth.
6. If he'd known what had happened to Xehanort, he might have stopped. But probably not.
Arche and Donald:
"See, it's this easy. Great having magic come to you so readily, isn't it?" Arche grinned, showing off a quick Fire Storm. "Not like that stuffy know-it-all. Work, work, work."
Donald nodded eagerly. "See, that's what makes us the real wizards around!"
Arche smirked. "Of course, to be the best, you should use something like I do. It's not that hard to enchant a broom like this, and flying around makes things eeeeeeasy!"
At the mention of flight, Donald looked briefly eager, then abashed. "Probably not a good idea, really. The King...well, he made this law for some reason - no enchanting brooms. He won't say why..."
Mushu and Stahn:
"Come on, get a move on! One two one two!" While diminutive, Mushu was doing his best to get Stahn out of bed. This was proving to be a harder task than he thought - the kid had the makings to be a great hero, but all he seemed to want to do was sleep and eat! Case in point - Mushu had done everything short of setting Stahn on fire, and he still wouldn't budge.
"*mumble* Jus'...another few minutes...go practice or something, would you?"
Mushu looked disapprovingly at Stahn. Really! The dragon was just supposed to be an advisor, not the hero! The only practice he could possibly do would be to figure out some of the powers of that sword...
"...right! Get your butt moving, I'll take Dymlos out to the training area!" With a great deal of exertion, Mushu started dragging the Swordian with him. Since Stahn was asleep and Mushu wasn't one of the chosen wielders, no one could hear Dymlos's complaints.
Many people, however, heard the Explode spell going off when Mushu decided to see what his dragon flames could do in tandem with the sword.
It took a second Explode to get Stahn to actually leave his bed.
Guy and the Princesses:
Panic. Sheer panic. Oh, sure. It had seemed like a good idea at the time - the heroic Guy, striking out against the blatantly evil villains. Really, some of them were making Jade look heroic and that was just plain wrong.
Unfortunately, his luck had come to an end. Until now, Guy had managed to make a heroic escape after besting the villain. He couldn't run forever, though, and now he was trapped.
"Really, we don't know how to thank you for saving us!" The princesses moved in, planning on delivering a kiss on the cheek to their saviour. Guy, nearly incoherent with panic, backed away until he found himself in a corner. He was surrounded! Only one thing to do... "HEEEEEELLLLLLP!"

Date: 2008-01-21 11:44 pm (UTC)Anyhow. That being said, my knowledge of the Tales series is pretty much limited to Tales of Symphonia. Not that this doesn't leave room for some amusing situations...
...Mostly, I'd love to see Collette discussing theology with Hercules. Because I cannot picture this in any sane manner.

Date: 2008-01-22 02:37 pm (UTC)Collette and Hercules - though not exactly as described:
Hercules found himself stifling a sigh. It's not like he didn't appreciate the help rescuing Meg - it was Hades, Lord of the Dead, after all. And while this girl might be a bit clumsy, Collette was earnest and cheerful. It had been a bit odd, what she said about 'Chosen sticking together' but that could be put aside.
This...couldn't.
Collette waved cheerfully from atop one of Cerberus's three heads, patting it with the other hand. "Look at this nice doggy, Hercules! I think I'll call him...Foo-foo!"

(Okay. I had way too much fun with that 'advice'.)

Date: 2008-01-24 08:53 pm (UTC)1. Kratos had known that there were other worlds out there. Derris-Kharlan was only the nearest, after all.
2. The first time he fought the Heartless, he wondered if this was what Mithos had been hoping for with his 'Age of Lifeless Beings'.
3. After fighting enough of them, he told himself that they weren't; that these were wild creatures, born of darkness, and nothing like Mithos's goals, all that time ago. He took some small comfort in this.
4. When he first faced a member of Organization XIII, Kratos realized with no small degree of horror that the Nobodies, by contrast, fit Mithos's goals perfectly. Without emotion, without hearts, these were the 'lifeless beings' that Mithos sought to become.
5. The fact that Mithos's killing of his own heart had created a Nobody of the half-elf was just the icing on the cake.
6. Once Kratos realized what the Organization's goals were, and how widely they sought to increase their reach, he approached Mithos's Nobody, introduced himself as a companion of his original, and offered his services.
7. After all, Lloyd was sure to oppose the Organization just as he had opposed Mithos, and Kratos's son would have an easier time of it with someone on the inside.

Date: 2008-01-24 08:57 pm (UTC)"Come on, it's easy! Just think happy thoughts!"
Leon just glared up at the green-clad urchin. Happy? When had he been happy? Years of service to the crown, being forced into a betrayal by his own father, Marian... Where in all his escapades had he had a chance to enjoy life? Unconsciously, his hand slipped into a pocket and closed around a device.
Leon smirked, and rose slowly into the air, his flight improving with every press of a button. Oh, it was horribly unlikely that that farmboy Stahn was still wearing the shock collar, but Leon could dream...

Somehow, the childish nickname had awoken Riku from Ansem's darkness, which eventually led to the latter's defeat. Later, when Riku had rejoined with Sora, he and Norma had a long chat filled with much laughter, to Sora's dismay.
Sora had really, really hoped that Riku had forgotten his nickname from when they were younger, but it and a dozen new names surfaced within minutes. Why him?...

Date: 2008-01-25 01:12 am (UTC)Luke knew that he was trapped. It was impossible that he and Tear could escape now. Funny thing is, this realization didn't sink in when they were first sucked into this old book. He was shocked at first of course, but he figured magic got him into the book, magic could get them out.
Then the cute talking yellow bear appeared. Then came the bouncing tiger along with the little shy pig and the high strung rabbit. As soon as he saw Tear's eyes lit up gleefully while being surrounded by these over cute creatures, Luke groaned. He was indeed trapped.

Date: 2008-02-07 06:52 pm (UTC)Chat (Tales of Eternia):
1. After the Heartless overtook Inferia and Celestia, Chat found herself alone on the Van Elita. She only knows for certain what happened to Max - the towering man had gone to rescue his wife from the Heartless, and eventually the blasts from his cannon had stopped coming out of the horde. She'd tried to get refugees on board, but the only people who believed her about the threat were trying to fight it, not flee it.
2. Sometimes, she blames herself for the fate of the others. She knows that she didn't have any hope of fighting them, and without the Greater Craymel's, her ship's cannon didn't have so much as a fraction of the power needed to hold off the horde. She remembers seeing Reid sending her a grin before he and Farah went to Nereid's seal to see if that was the source of the threat, remembers taking Keele and Meredy to the ancient library and then watching in horror as a giant black monster ate it...she had done as they'd asked and wishes she'd done more.
3. Sometimes she even misses Quickie. Those are the times that she knows she's getting too depressed about things.
4. The worlds beyond Inferia and Celestia scare Chat, not because of the monsters they contain - she helped face down Nereid, for Seyfert's sake - but because for the first time in her life, she's going somewhere that her idol, Aifread, has never been. Until now, she's been following the path of his legacy - now, she has to make her own path.
5. Chat loves exploring new worlds for the same reason.
6. After a year or two of exploring, she settles down in Traverse Town - the Van Elita needs repairs, and it's as good a location as any. By this time she's learned enough about other ships that she winds up staying there, and sets up shop selling small inter-world ships based on the Aibirds.
7. Eventually, other survivors from Eternia make their way to Traverse Town. Those that remembered her tend to express surprise that a former pirate is now selling ships. To this, Chat smirks, tips her hat, and says that her prices are piracy enough.
(Note that I haven't outlined the fate of the rest of the ToE characters, excepting poor Max. And heck, he might not be done, either...*grin*)
